You know, the one that seems always to be there no matter what you do. If you could only get past it, you would feel more peaceful, reach your desires, and practice more self-care, right?
But how can we get over this mountain?
Not by wishing it away.
Not by pretending it's not there.
Not by climbing it until we're too weak to continue.
Those strategies don't work long-term when it comes to the mountains we believe are in our way.
This is what we do:
Become still, ground into the Earth, and observe this mountain with curiosity and loving-kindness.
Explore patterns that grew this mountain through open-ended, nonjudgemental questions.
See that this mountain is a facade which opens us up to a deeper truth and reveals our false identity as an action we've been taking.
Realize that this old action can be changed into a new approach, turning our Old Story into a New Story.
Allow ourself to make mistakes as we practice this new approach.
Remain curious and see new opportunities for learning in places we would have previously seen as failures.
Continue to grow our capacity in this area until, one day, the unimaginable actually does come true.
We notice that our mountain is no longer there.
And it comes at a time when we're not even looking.
It remains somewhere in the distant past where there is a younger version of ourself who chose NOT to get over her mountain
but instead
she DARED to go through it.
